The Edge Of Glory (Bare Noize Remix) // Lady Gaga
For those who don’t know, he’s an 18 year old contestant on the X Factor. I’d put a picture up if looking at his face didn’t make me want to vom.
So, first audition and he comes on the show, he shows the world his butt that is covered in tattoos of girls names. Girls that he met on holiday. Lovely. Uber-hetero. It’s good that you can sleep around all you want and get a big pat on the back from the British media. Better not be an ambitious female like Misha B or Kitty, uh oh, oh no, that means you’re a nightmare and deserve a real hard time from the British media.
But no, instead of advising Frankie Cocozza to perhaps show a bit more respect to women, to perhaps treat them like human beings rather than sex objects, ‘they’ (whoever ‘they’ may be) have decided they’re going to run with this ‘bad boy’ routine. This week he was as chauvinistic as ever, bragging about these girls dancing for him on stage, with pictures of him making out with a bunch of girls, and part of his routine last night even involved him walking onto the stage while being stroked by members of the audience. I really like it when women (in the most part) are being encouraged to adore someone who has a lack of respect (for women, for the show, for himself).
It’s bad enough that the media gives shit like this coverage, but it’s even worse when it’s been packaged as something we should not only be accepting of, but actually something that’s being promoted, something that we should be actively voting for.
I don’t even watch the X Factor and I’ve had him shoved in my face by so many different companies and publications. Never heard his voice, singing or otherwise and I find that loath him, completely.
